This retails for $21 (USD) for 4.8g and can be found wherever Derma E products are sold which make this product very accessible for a majority of people. It has a great amount of sun protection at a very reasonable price point. Apart from the feel of the brushes the Derma E brush has a very strong rubber scent which won’t seem to dissipate even after using the product for months.Īpart from those two very small details I think the Derma E Sun Protection Mineral Powder SPF 30 is a great dupe for the colorescience. I’m just trying to give the only notable difference in wear between the two.Īnother thing to note is that the Colorescience attached brush is very soft whereas the Derma E brush is clearly cheaper and a bit rougher on the skin. However with that said its not really that bad and it nothing that would stop me from using this product. When I apply it it feels very light weight but by the end of the day my skin does feel a bit grimy from the built up product. This is only something you notice after several hours of wear and multiple layers. The Derma E Sun Protection Mineral Powder SPF 30 is slightly grainy and thicker than the color science. So I’m being super nitpicky for comparison sake. This product is in my opinion the most superior of all powder sunscreens so if you can afford you will not be disappointed but if you are looking for something less pricey but effective Derma E should do the trick!ĭerma E Sun Protection Mineral Powder SPF 30 // Rating: 4/5 This is definitely a splurge kind of product for me and not always in my price point. The only negative is that Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 50 retails for $65 (USD) for 6g of product. After that day Sunforgetable has become a ride or die for me. I applied generously throughout the day and when I came home my skin was porcelain and sun free. It wasn’t until I carried it in my backpack during a summer music festival that the product was properly put to the test. When I first started using it I wasn’t fully convinced that it was even added adequate sun protection because of how weightless the formula is. The finely milled powder feels weightless on the face and never builds up or feels cakey or grimy even after several layers. The formula is very sophisticated and light so light you might not even feel like you’ve applied anything. Here are two of my favorite portable powder sunscreens!Ĭolorescience Sunforgettable SPF 50 // Rating: 5/5 That's why I like to carry a powder sunscreen in my bag for reapplying SPF and killing midday shine. It’s recommended that you reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours but reapplying cream sunscreen when you have makeup on can be tough without smudging or moving it around. I apply a few layers of cream sunscreen as the last step of my AM skincare routine right before makeup. Looking for an anti-aging product? Sunscreen! Looking to improve texture and even skin’s tone, that's right sunscreen! If you're reading this then you obviously already know that sunscreen is the most important product in your skincare routine by far.
